About Me - Daniel Loizzo, MD

Pediatric Neurologist. Yoga Teacher. Nervous System Educator.

Hi, I’m Daniel Loizzo — a Boston-based pediatric neurology resident and 500 hr E-RYT certified yoga instructor.

I discovered yoga in 2014 in Chicago, Illinois as a college student at Northwestern University as I sought out an outlet to better understand my body and to complement my ice hockey training. My passion for yoga quickly grew, leading to an ongoing journey of self-discovery, grounding, and mindfulness. I first received my 200 hr RYT certification in January 2019, and I have taught across Chicago and Boston ever since.

Ever since I began my own yoga journey, I’ve always wanted to bridge two worlds:

  • The clinical science of the brain, and

  • The somatic wisdom of breath, movement, and stillness.

In the hospital, I care for children and families navigating neurological disorders. On the mat, I teach movement and mindfulness that help regulate the very systems I study every day.

My teaching is grounded in:

  • Neuroscience of stress, attention, and healing

  • Accessible, intentional movement

  • Compassionate guidance and trauma-awareness

Throughout my teaching, I’ve taught medical students, parents, providers, and professionals how to reconnect with their breath and restore nervous system balance — without needing to escape daily life.

Why I Teach

I started NeuYoga for the same reason I went into medicine:
To help people feel seen, centered, and safe — especially in their own bodies.

Yoga and neuroscience both tell us the same truth:
Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in rhythm, relationship, and regulation.

Let’s practice together.
